Meeting with AEGEE
Recently I was invited to the meeting of Aegee, European student organization.
I didn't know much about Aegee and their activites before, just some basic things.
I had a chance to get-to-know about 20 people from different countries where Aegee operates and was impressed by the similarities they have with AIESEC!
Aimed at breaking stereotypes and developing culture-sensitive mindset among young people, Aegee runs study tours, conferences & seminars on different topics (such as education, human rights, etc.)
Of course, for me, coming from AIESEC, it was very interesting to find out how they function as organization: who manages it, what levels (national, intl) they have and WHY people join Aegee - what they find in this organization.
Many answers seemed very familiar ;) especially when the President of Aegee Moscow, a girl of 3rd course in HSE, told: "You know, Katya, it's the question I ask myself every day: why on earth am I doing all these???" :)
By the way. It's very easy to become a member of Aegee, you just need to fill in the application and pay the annual fee! After that you can travel to almost every event that they organize!
And, to make you smile:) they also have something like a Global Village, goals are the same, but the name is different:)
Nice opportunity to put in your calendar!
